The Oakdale Centre is a leading independent provider of psychological therapies and personal development to adults, young people, children and families across the North of England.

We are a not-for-profit Community Interest Company committed to understanding and appreciating the needs of our clients and providing the most appropriate support, psychological therapy or personal development to help with current difficulties and cope with life’s challenges.

Psychological support, from a Psychiatrist, Psychologist, Counsellor or Psychotherapist, can provide you with the opportunity to discuss your problems with a professional; someone who is understanding and non-judgemental, outside the sphere of your immediate family, friends and colleagues.

Speaking to, and being truly listened to, by a trained, experienced professional in a therapeutic way could help you make sense of why and how you feel and behave the way you do. Often people do not know what is causing them emotional pain and distress, and therapy can help you to better understand your problems, enable and empower you to live your life in the way you want to and to make better decisions.

Therapy can help with current difficulties as well as issues  associated with early life experiences and can be very useful for a range of problems such as depression, anxiety and relationship issues. It can be short term, a matter of weeks, or long term, over months, helping you to make the changes you want to make in your life.
