Helen Tait
I'm a BACP-registered Integrative Psychotherapist working with adults and young people experiencing a range of emotional and mental health difficulties, including anxiety, panic, stress, depression, trauma, loss and bereavement, low self-esteem, relationship and attachment difficulties, eating difficulties, OCD, self-harm, and neurodivergence, including neurodivergent people such as those with ADHD and autism.
My approach is warm, collaborative and tailored to each individual. Drawing on person-centred, psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural approaches, I adapt therapy to meet each client's unique needs. Together, we decide what feels most helpful - whether that's finding practical ways to manage current challenges or taking time to explore deeper experiences and patterns that may be influencing life today. Where appropriate, I also integrate Rewind Trauma Therapy to support clients who have experienced trauma.
I hold an MA in Counselling and am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I attend regular clinical supervision in line with the BACP Ethical Framework and am committed to ongoing learning and professional development to ensure I continue to provide the highest standard of care.
I believe everyone deserves to feel heard, understood and accepted without judgement. I'm passionate about helping people better understand themselves, make sense of their experiences and the challenges they face, and move forward with greater confidence and self-compassion. I also hope to play a part in normalising conversations about mental health and reducing the stigma around seeking support.
