Kate Bufton

Psychodynamic Psychotherapist

I’m a Psychotherapist with a Master’s degree in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and am a Registered Member of the BACP.

As a psychodynamically-trained psychotherapist, our focus would be on the unconscious mind. The work is unstructured - exploring emotions, thoughts, and early life experiences in depth to examine present behaviour and lead to a greater understanding of the self. We would also look at the therapist-client relationship, where together we would uncover hidden patterns and unresolved conflicts.

I have worked with a wide range of clients and issues including low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties and trauma.

In addition to working at Oakdale, I also work with parents of young children at a local children's centre.
