Lauren Hunt
I am a Humanistic Integrative Counsellor and registered member of the BACP. I work relationally, believing that a genuine therapeutic relationship can provide the foundation for deeper self-understanding, healing, and meaningful change.
My approach is Person-Centred Experiential, which means I see you as the expert on your own life and experiences. Rather than directing or advising, I work alongside you with curiosity, compassion, and respect. Together, we can explore what is happening for you, make sense of difficult experiences, and find a way forward that feels right for you.
I believe counselling should be as unique as the person seeking it. Inclusivity is at the heart of my practice, and I tailor my approach to meet your individual needs. My approach is neurodiversity-affirming, anti-oppressive, non-pathologising and is trauma, shame, and attachment-informed. This enables me to work sensitively and collaboratively with a diverse range of clients.
I support people with a range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, loss, relationship challenges, low self-esteem, and life transitions. Whether you are facing a specific issue or simply feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected, therapy can provide a space to reflect, gain insight, and reconnect with yourself.
I hold a Master's degree in Integrative Counselling and am a certified Online and Telephone Counsellor. Alongside my private practice, I am a Counselling Lecturer on the BA Counselling and Mental Health and Course Lead for the Postgraduate Diploma in Humanistic Counselling at York St John University.
I am passionate about creating a warm, welcoming, and non-judgemental space where you can feel heard, understood, and supported to make sense of your experiences and create meaningful change.
