Sam Durrant
I am a specialist child therapist working with children, young people, and families experiencing emotional dysregulation, attachment difficulties, trauma, anxiety, low mood, self-harm, and complex relational challenges. I also provide therapeutic support to adults affected by trauma and attachment-based difficulties.
My practice is integrative and trauma-informed, drawing on non-directive and directive play therapy, systemic family work, and creative therapeutic approaches. I am qualified to deliver EMDR with both children and adults and have completed specialist training in sandtray therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for children and adolescents. I am also trained in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) approaches, Non-Violent Resistance (NVR), and Therapeutic Life Story Work.
My work is informed by Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) principles, following completion of Level 1 and Level 2 training. I have particular experience supporting neurodivergent children and young people, adapting therapeutic approaches to meet their individual developmental needs.
I aim to provide a safe, collaborative space where clients can process experiences, develop emotional regulation, strengthen relationships, and build effective coping strategies. I maintain high clinical standards through ongoing professional development and reflective supervision.
